In the October 2016 issue of Women’s Running magazine, I can across an article on Rahaf Khatib.
Rahaf is a devoted runner in Michigan with a desire to inspire others. She is originally from Damascus, Syria, and it was the first time a women with a hijab had run on the cover of Women’s Running magazine.

Rahaf with her cover issue in Women’s Running.
Since then, I have followed Rahaf’s journey through Instagram @runlikeahijabi. Hence, recently finding, that she will be participating in the Boston Marathon this year. A huge accomplishment for Rahaf, and a dream for many runners.
Rahaf has a wonderful goal of raising at $10,000 for refugees during her run at Boston. She is well on her way fundraising, and it is a wonderful opportunity for the running, American, and world community to support refugees as well.
After contacting Rahaf, she’s allowed me to share her efforts through this blog. Please consider giving to her initiative here through her LaunchGood campaign. I just would really love to see her $10,000 goal reached (and more!).
You can also follow Rahaf through her blog at runlikeahijabi.wordpress.com.
